Warning! Spoilers ahead for Dandadan chapter 56!
The first training arc is about to begin in Dandadan, and as Shonen Jump's most outlandish and creative title by far, fans are bracing for an innovative take on this well-established manga trope.
Nothing is normal in Dandadan, except for Dandadan's riveting romance between Okarun and Momo. Though, it's crucial to point out that for the majority of Shonen Jump's ongoing popular series including One Piece, Dragon Ball Super and Boruto, romance is essentially nonexistent, making this rather crucial dynamic type almost an oddity in action/adventure series. Regardless, from the unprecedented pairing of aliens with supernatural yokai to the absurd focus on and importance of a particular set of Okarun's organs, mangaka Yukinobu Tatsu has proven his affinity for the extreme.

By the end of chapter 56, Okarun is shaken by his inability to protect Momo when their friend Jiji loses control of the Dandadan's Evil Eye yokai possessing him and attacks her. Okarun tries to learn from various characters, but each one shoots him down until he speaks with the Turbogranny yokai, whose consciousness is stored in a cat statue and whose powers dwell within Okarun himself. After arguing the semantics of wanting to be strong or how to punch, Turbogranny eventually relents and agrees to train him.
It's almost impossible to predict what could actually transpire in this prospective training arc.
