A new Legend of Zelda mod for the N64 has been announced, which will turn it into a new Star Fox game starring Fox McCloud. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the few Legend of Zelda games with Star Fox content, as there are fully-functional Arwings buried in the code of the game that were used for testing, and can be spawned with speedrunning techniques. However, these were meant for testing purposes and were not planned to be discovered by the average players.
The Legend of Zelda games released on the Nintendo 64 have been the center of a number of big news stories over the past few years. The Nintendo Gigaleak featured unused content from Ocarina of Time, including the areas that had only ever been seen in magazine screenshots in the past. A PC port of Ocarina of Time was released by fans, featuring HD visuals and the game running at 60fps, which is great for those frustrated with the lackluster port on Nintendo Switch Online. An even earlier build of Ocarina of Time on an F-Zero Xcartridge was also discovered, showing a version of the game that was being created while the developers were still coming to grips with the hardware limitations of the N64.
