Being called the Steven Spielberg of something – anything – is quite a compliment. The man made dinosaurs look so real that entire generations thought Velociraptors were door-opening mini T-Rexes instead of the slightly larger danger chickens they actually were. However, Super Mario Bros. creator, Shigeru Miyamoto isn't all that kicked about being compared to the director, probably because the video game legend warrants no comparison,
In a conversation with GameSpot about The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Super Nintendo World, Miyamoto was asked what he thought about people calling him the "Walt Disney of the video game world". He told the interviewer that he's also sometimes also called the "Spielberg of the game world," but he's not too fond of such titles and comparisons.

"I'm Miyamoto. Miyamoto is Miyamoto and Nintendo is Nintendo," he said. "However, I do feel very honored to be compared with Disney. But with that said, rather than comparing Nintendo to Disney, I feel that Disney to some extent, especially for families, [represents] a sense of reassurance for families."
He elaborated, saying that while video games aren't usually equated with reassurance, Nintendo, as a video game brand, has reached a point where it can be compared to the likes of Disney, and can hence perhaps give that reassurance.
