Lego Disney reportedly among several cancelled projects at TT Games
Several Lego game projects have reportedly been quietly cancelled at TT Games, according to a new report.
Nintendo Life claims that projects include Lego Guardians of the Galaxy, a Lego Disney title, as well as a mobile port of Lego Worlds.
A non-Lego shooter featuring Warner Bros. characters such as Rick & Morty and the DC Universe of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, has also been cancelled, it’s claimed.
VGC has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment on the report.
According to the publication, ‘Project Marley’, one of the allegedly cancelled games, was set to feature characters from Disney’s biggest animated properties including Frozen, The Muppets, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, Nightmare Before Christmas and more. The game would have seen players explore “Diablo-like,” dungeons, according to the report.
The report also claims that following the release of Gameloft‘s Disney Dreamlight Valley, the project lost direction and was cancelled after four years of work.
The Lego Guardians of the Galaxy project, codenamed ‘Project Cosmic’, is said to have been a traditional Lego title in the style of previous Lego superhero entries.
The game was allegedly set to feature Nova and Adam Warlock, both of whom are set to appear in the next Guardians of the Galaxy film, suggesting the game could have served as a tie-in. It was reportedly cancelled after 18 months.
VGC first reported last year that The Lego Group is set to announce partnerships with publishers outside of TT for console games for the first time in years, including severalLego sports titles from 2K.
TT Games’ last Lego project, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker, was released last April and smashed launch records for all previous Lego console games, according to publisher Warner
