The anticipated Sonic Origins Plus will reportedly be released in June.
An as-yet unannounced game titled Sonic Origins Plus was given a rating in South Korea last month, sparking discussion as to what it may actually entail.
Now, according to a report on ComicBook.com which has since been deleted (but covered by GoNintendo before it was), Sonic Origins Plus will be an updated version of Sonic Origins with new games and features.
The report claims that Plus will be available as a $9.99 digital upgrade for owners of Sonic Origins, as well as a $39.99 bundle containing Sonic Origins and Plus, available both physically and digitally (the standard version of Sonic Origins didn’t get a physical release).
The Plus upgrade will reportedly contain all 12 Sonic games released on the Game Gear, which would therefore mean the following:
The upgrade will also reportedly add Amy Rose as a playable character in the compilation’s existing games – Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Sonic CD – as well as making Knuckles playable in Sonic CD.
It will also include all previously released Sonic Origins DLC, and the physical edition is said to include a 20-page artbook.
When Sonic Origins released in June 2022 it was accompanied by three DLC packs costing around $5, which included such features as new hard missions, extra music tracks and character animations on the main menu.
Players complained at the time that some of these features, particularly the main menu animations, should have been present in the base game.
