As a final parting gift before Mimimi Games shuts down, the studio has released a modding tool for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew on PC.
The modding tool answers long-running fan requests for level editors that go back to the studio’s first game, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Desperados 3 then had some Level Editing Cheats that were a half-measure, but these are full modding tools for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.
The modding tools allow users to create full missions and new stories within this piratical setting. You can spawn characters, enemies and NPCs, place objects and interactive elements to create new landscapes, set animations, guard routines, dialogue, cutscenes and more.
This isn’t giving you full and unfettered access to remake the game as you see fit, so is a good few steps short of a full modding editor, but will allow for plenty of creative endeavours.
You can also share these mods with an Export feature. This allows you to export a creation to the Mods folder on your PC, and then you can upload these to the dedicated and official Shadow Gambit modding space on Mod.io – https://mod.io/g/shadow-gambit. You’ll also find some examples from Mimimi that you can use to inspire you.
