Xbox has announced a new Developer_Direct stream will take place on Thursday 18th January at 8PM GMT, giving an inside look at some of the biggest games coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass.
The Developer_Direct will focus on four key games from across Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, but Microsoft notes that Activision Blizzard will not be featured in the stream.
So what will be included? Well, from the Bethesda side of things we’ll get to “check in” on the Indiana Jones game from Wolfenstein developer MachineGames, which will hopefully give more than 10 minutes of gameplay and developer chat about the story and setting. The stream will then visit Oxide Games for the turn-based grand strategy game Ara: History Untold.
From Xbox Game Studios it will then be two games that we already know are on the cards for 2024. Obsidian will present a deep dive into the gameplay of Avowed, their first person action RPG set in the same world as the Pillars of Eternity games, and we’ll visit Ninja Theory’s Cambridge studio for more of Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga.
Following the main stream, ZeniMax Online Studios will host The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 Global Reveal at 9PM GMT.
This will be the second Developer_Direct stream from Microsoft, mimicking how they opened the year in 2023. Of course, that stream saw the surprise announcement and release of Hi-Fi Rush, which was one of the best games of last year. Could we see them pull a similar stunt this time around? Well, at the very least we could see one or two of the four have a release date announced.
