An open world survival RPG set in feudal Japan, Sengoku Dynasty, will add farming next week. The farming update will add agricultural systems like crop cultivation, land management, and additional changes that will roll out in stages.
The update comes out on November 7th, and developer Superkami note that this is the beginning of a series of new additions for farming, in addition to adding different elements of dynasty management as laid out in the Early Access roadmap. So what can we expect in this update next week? Grow a number of different crops that include garlic, leeks, and turnips, then cultivate them with farming tools. Systems like watering your crops, fertilizing, and weeding the crops to nurture them until you can harvest will be included. New terrain options include land and water fields. The latter will allow for rice cultivation.
The update will also change the map in places, including with the addition of a new farming village called Aratani. They specialize in rice there as a communal effort. This is where you'll be able to pick up a series of new quests, as well as trade with some of the NPCs. Other changes to the terrain include deforested patches or overly harassisted resources beginning to grow back. You'll also be able to find mining deposits that can also have a chance to respond.
The developers are beginning to flesh out the open world, as well as offer more to do. Noting that farming was a big community request, the devs added additional systems like a composting station that will let you create fertilizer and more to integrate the new activities.
There are quality of life updates as well, including performance improvements and emotes. These include meditation, stretching, and greeting someone
