As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the French Embassy and developer Masseka are partnering to create a hub in the country. So far, €300,000 (~$327,600) has been invested into the project, described as both an incubator and studio. The aim is seemingly to make Senegal a games development hub for West Africa.
Studio Kayfo Games is going to be providing support on the technical side of things, while La Délégation Générale à l'Entreprenariat Rapide des Femmes et des Jeunes – the Senegalese government body governing entreneupreship for women and young people – is going to be providing office space for the venture in the country's capital of Dakar.
The Occitanie region of France has also promised to join the venture, though there's seemingly not much detail as to what that will entail.
