The drumbeat towards launch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard continues with a new trailer premiering at Sony’s September State of Play this week. This latest trailer gives us a look at over four minutes of gameplay, this time focused on Rook and team facing off against a ferocious and powerful Blighted Dragon.
It’s a solid demo of what the game’s action combat experience will be like. Veilguard looks to be a combination of fast paced action combat with the option to slow things down and take a more tactical approach using the game’s pause mechanic to issue commands to the players’ companions.
We get a small taste of the game’s story here, too. The Grey Wardens look to assist Rook and their team against Ghilan’nain, but it doesn’t go too well for them.
In our recent preview of the game, we wrote, “As much as Veilguard is a return to Thedas for fans of Dragon Age: Inquisition it’s also a triumphant return to form for BioWare, whose last flagship intellectual property Anthem left players gasping for something more.”
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available for pre-order now and will launch on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms on October 31.
