Launching last month after years and years of waiting, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl had its fair share of issues, especially in the technical department, but GSC Game World’s open world shooter had more than enough going for it to really get its claws into people- and a fair amount of people, as it turns out.
In fact, the game has already turned a profit. Speaking with Forbes Ukraine, GSC Game World owner Maxim Krippa revealed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has already sold enough to begin turning a profit. Kirppa did not reveal exactly how much the game has sold since its less under a month ago, nor did he saw what its development and marketing budget was, though he did confirm that “tens of millions of dollars” were invested into the project.
GSC Game World announced last month that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 had sold over 1 million units within three days of its release.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
