RuneScape launched the Necromancy update a week ago. This week, the team is detailing the world’s first race, fixes, and other responses from the community.
With the release of not just a new skill, but an entire combat style, the race to world first 99 and 120 in Necromancy was on as soon as the update went live. The first to reach 99, Bailetje, did so in under 25 hours and the first to 120, Its Dave, took over 71 hours. Milestones for sure, especially since this is the first new combat style ever in the more than two-decades since launch.
For those who are looking for additional help in reaching their own level milestones, there's a brand new guide with suggestions grouped by levels, to help you manage to get yourself all the way to 99. The first half of has already been published, with the second promised on Saturday. The team is betting that you probably won't be trying to reach 99 in a little over one day, so you can start on that journey to 50 now if you haven't already.
Necromancy is, of course, the big topic in terms of updates, and there is a whole new hub for the Jagex Necromancy team to keep up with the community, report on bugs, and otherwise keep everyone updates on progress and changes to all things Necromancy-related. The team plans to release several of these specific blog updates over the next few weeks while they continue to work with community feedback and to address any lingering issues.
This week’s patch notes do already show a large number of hotfixes in addition to patches to fix a number of issues from the update.
There’s more to do in Gielinor even if you’re not out there collecting souls. A new round of Treasure Hunter will begin on August 17th, this time, Tinkerer’s Trail.
