Minecraft is quite the iconic game. I’m sure we don’t have to tell you about it as it’s quickly captivated so many players worldwide. While it’s still a big hit today with fans, you might not know that the Xbox Series X/S version of the game is actually just the Xbox One copy. Played through backward compatibility, those on the latest-generation platforms might soon find that the game will have another release. That’s according to a new classification that was uncovered in Germany.
Thanks to the VGC, we have a new report indicating that Minecraft was uncovered with a new classified in Germany this month. That has some fans assuming a new version of the game might be underway. But so far, nothing official has been revealed by Microsoft quite yet. It’s also uncertain what might be different with this new version of the game compared to the previous Xbox One copy. Fortunately, VGC did bring up one feature that very well could be a highlight on the Xbox Series X/S platforms.
If you recall, for a short period, the preview build for Minecraft offered an option to turn on ray tracing. Of course, that was quickly rectified, and the feature was removed. Now this new version of Minecraft for the latest-generation platforms could provide a ray-tracing option. That’s, of course, just speculation. But if this is the case, then it could persuade some players to make the jump onto the latest version release of the game.
Meanwhile, there’s no more information now to indicate what this new release could bring. Likewise, we don’t have any insight as to when this version of the game would release or if the PlayStation 5 would have this copy of the game as well. Regardless, Minecraft fans will likely keep a very close eye on Mojang going
