The bread-and-butter of Genshin Impact has always been its characters: they are the main appeal of the game, the driving force of its gameplay, and the primary source of profit for HoYoverse. As such, knowing which characters are releasing is considered valuable information to Genshin Impact players, as they can then choose how to spend their Primogems responsibly.
The Fontaine patch cycle has introduced many popular Genshin Impact characters, such as Furina and Neuvillette, who have firmly carved their own spot in the endgame meta. Others, such as Xianyun and Chevreuse, have enabled new types of gameplay for old units by buffing niche concepts such as Plunging Attacks and Overload. Whereas Neuvillette and Kazuha are expected to grace the Event Banners once more during the second half of Version 4.5, it would appear that Wanderer and Baizhu are due for another re-run in Version 4.6. Rather fittingly, it's expected that Genshin Impact will see Lyney accompany the director of the House of the Hearth on the Event Banners of Version 4.6.
It's important to note that while this appears to be the current line-up for Version 4.6, HoYoverse has a reputation for changing the Event Banners on a whim. Most recently, Itto and Albedo were scheduled to appear in the Event Banners for Version 4.3, before ultimately being moved to Version 4.5. While some may find Baizhu's re-run shocking, it's important to note that he would be eligible for Genshin Impact's new Chronicled Banner after Version 4.6.
