Robin Hood 2018 Star Reflects On Movie Bombing at Box Office
Taron Egerton, recently reflects on his 2018 film, Robin Hood, which turned out to be a massive box office flop. With Egerton in the titular role, the action-packed retelling of the classic tale of Robin of Loxley stealing from the rich to give to the poor was derided by critics and fans. Its poor reviews did not help its chances commercially, as Robin Hoodwas a box office bomb that took in a paltry $86.5 million off a $100 million budget.
After starring in the the British detective series Lewis, he was cast in the lead role of Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service, an action-comedy film based upon the popular Mark Millar comic book series, The Secret Service. The film went on to be a hit at the box office, pulling in $414 million. Egerton's fame continued to climb with roles in the Eddie the Eagle biopic as well as the animated film, Sing. However, in 2018, the actor starred in both Billionaire Boys Club and Robin Hood, both failures in a multitude of ways.

In an interview with The New York Times, Egerton reflected on his 2018 box office flops. According to the actor, with his newfound fame he was given a chance to earn a lot of money with those two projects.
