Following the return of Robbie Amell through Deathstorm in The Flash season 8, Amell says he is fully prepared for the backlash. The Arrowverse alum first made his entrance on the CW show as Ronnie Raymond in season 1, who later possessed the ability to merge with Martin Stein (Victor Garber) to become the transmuted and conjoint meta-human known as Firestorm. However, during the singularity generated by Eobard Thawne’s (Matt Letscher) heinous plans, Ronnie sacrificed his life to fly into the wormhole to save Central City.
In the most recent episode of The Flash titled “Resurrection,” Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight) team up together to prevent the villainous entity known as the Black Flame from hurting anyone else. Despite finding a way to contain the Black Flame, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) intervenes as she believes that Ronnie has been left entrapped, which ultimately led to the emergence of Ronnie from the Black Flame in the end. However, it was later revealed in a private conversation between the resurrected “Ronnie” and Caitlin that the real identity behind the physical form of her late husband was Deathstorm.

In an interview with EW, Amell breaks down the unexpected turn of events of his titular character in the Arrowverse. While commenting on the absence of Ronnie, Amell explains feeling prepared for the onslaught of hate he may receive from fans of Ronnie. In turn, the interviewer asks if he is looking forward to receiving hate tweets about the startling revelations in the most recent episode, with Amell responding with, "Oh, for sure." Read
