The Flash Season 8: Robbie Amell Discusses DC Twist Behind His Return

Robbie Amell, who portrays Ronnie Raymond, breaks down his return in The Flash season 8, which came with a significant DC Comics twist. As The Flash has been airing for almost nine years, the show has featured a lot of characters from the DC Universe, both heroes and villains. One of the earliest superheroes introduced during Barry Allen's first year as the Scarlet Speedster was Firestorm, who consisted of Ronnie and Martin Stein. After some speculation, The Flash season 8 officially provided its new take on the DC villain Deathstorm, before ending episode 11 on a cliffhanger.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Amell discussed the fallout of «Resurrection» and the epic reveal of The Flash's fresh iteration of the DC foe. The actor spoke about how the creative team came to him about the Deathstorm pitch. While many believed that The Flash would revive Ronnie from the dead, Amell was excited about getting to play the enemy, as he stated the following:
