Robbie Amell teases his big return as Firestorm in The Flash season 8 as his first episode this week will also include some key flashbacks for his character. The Arrowverse has, over the last almost ten years, introduced a variety of heroes and villains from the DC Universe. While some superheroes have been front and center as the leads of various shows, they have also had several recurring allies fans have grown attached to in the Arrowverse. One of the earliest characters to jump from page to screen was Firestorm, the combination of Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein.
While Martin moved on to Legends of Tomorrow as a lead, Ronnie sadly didn't survive the events of The Flash season 1. The season two premiere established Amell's character sacrificing himself to stop the singularity from destroying Central City. However, dead doesn't always mean goodbye since The Flash has had different ways of featuring Amell as variations of Ronnie throughout the Arrowverse drama. Now that The Flash season 8 is dealing with its Black Flame mystery, the former Firestorm is returning this week as part of a 2-episode visit, with details still being kept under wrap.

With this being Amell's latest appearance on The Flash, fans should expect some key moments between Ronnie and Caitlin Snow. In a new interview with TVLine, Amell previewed his mini-arc that will heavily feature scenes between him and Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin (as the two characters were romantically involved before Ronnie's death).
