Batgirl star Leslie Grace teases new story details for the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie. Like Disney/Marvel Studios before them, Warner Bros./DC Films has been extending its cinematic universe to the small screen. For example, The Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker made its debut on HBO Max earlier this year. While a handful of other DC shows are in the works, one particular feature-length will also make its way to the streaming service with Batgirl.
With a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey), Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah, Batgirl will introduce Grace’s Barbara Gordon, who moonlights as the titular Caped Crusader. The film will also star J.K. Simmons as Justice League’s Commissioner Gordon, Jacob Scipio as mob boss Anthony Bressi, and Michael Keaton, reprising his role as Tim Burton’s Bruce Wayne/Batman following work on The Flash. Brendan Fraser will play the serial arsonist known as Firefly, who will presumably serve as the film’s main antagonist. Filming on Batgirl was completed a couple of weeks ago in Glasgow, Scotland and most plot details are being kept under wraps. However, that isn’t keeping Grace from teasing fans with the film’s story.
