Batgirl star Leslie Grace shares her experience of wearing her superhero suit for the first time. Since Warner Bros./DC Films’ divisive Justice League was released, the DC Extended Universe has begun to rework itself on screens big and small. As was the case withThe Suicide Squad spinoffPeacemaker, WB is producing a handful of DCEU shows and films for its streaming service. For example, the upcoming Batgirl is expected to skip theaters and release directly on HBO Max.
Helmed by Bad Boys for Life directors by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with a script by Bird of Prey writer Christina Hodson, Batgirl will introduce Grace Barbara Gordon/Batgirl as one of Gotham City’s fierce vigilantes. The film will also see J.K. Simmons reprise his DCEU role as Commissioner Gordon and Michael Keaton return as the Caped Crusader following his work as Batman on The Flash. While plot details are being kept under wraps, Batgirl will see its titular hero face-off with Firefly (Brendan Fraser), a jetpack and flame-thrower-wielding serial arsonist who terrorizes Gotham. Filming wrapped earlier this month after official images and set photos gave fans a look at Grace as Batgirl. Now, she’s discussing what it was like wearing the costume for the first time.

In a recent interview with Variety, Grace talked about getting involved with the DCEU and playing Batgirl.
