Star Al Madrigal reveals new details for Morbius' alternate ending in which he and Tyrese Gibson's characters face off against the film's villain. Madrigal and Gibson starred in the new installment of Sony's Spider-Man Universe as Al Rodriguez and Simon Stroud, two FBI agents who are investigating the titular doctor and his ties to a grisly murder scene on an adrift cargo ship found off the coast of New York. The two race against time in the hopes of finding Morbius before his bloodlust seemingly takes over him, only to later realize the Nobel Prize winner may not be the one behind a string of murders in the city.
Alongside Madrigal and Gibson, the cast for Morbius included Jared Leto in the titular role, Matt Smith as Lucien «Milo», Morbius' best friend-turned-enemy after he gains the same abilities as him, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris and Michael Keaton reprising his role of Adrian Toomes/Vulture from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new SSU film underwent a number of changes and delays throughout its development, finally hitting theaters this past April to largely negative reviews from critics for its bland screenplay, lackluster visual effects and outdated storytelling. Despite its negative reviews, Morbius has become a modest box office success, grossing over $161.5 million against its estimated $83 million budget.
