A talented animator is creating a Star Trek: The Next Generation game in the style of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The beloved sci-fi series, a successorto the original Star Trek show, introduced fans to an entire new cast of Starfleet explorers and inspired a number of film follow-ups. While one fan recently brought Zelda: Ocarina of Time to Unreal Engine, other creators prefer to embrace the game's retro Nintendo 64 graphics.
While it may be outdated, the Nintendo 64 is still fondly remembered for its nostalgic graphics and amazing lineup of hit games. The console's polygonal character models may look rough by today's standards, but there is a definite charm in seeing characters with blocky hands and expressionless faces. Throughout its lifespan numerous beloved games launched on the Nintendo 64, like Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Star Fox 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Despite now being more than twenty years old, the enduring popularity of the console was recently demonstrated when a long-lost Tim Burton N64 game called Carnivalé: Cenzo’s Adventure was released in January 2022.
