Ultimately, Wallace has said that he's known what the ending of the Flash series will be for a long time, which will now take place at the end of The Flash season 9.

Now (via TV Line), The CW has revealed that The Flash season 8 finale will air on June 29th, 2022. The Flash season 8 will consist of 18 episodes total, with the 11th episode set to air next Wednesday, April 13th. Thus far, the show has dealt with a number of threats and twists, beginning with the Armageddon crossover event and now teasing the return of Robbie Amell's Firestorm. There are a number of different directions the show could go in and plenty of storylines to wrap up before it ends its long run, so fans can rest easy in that there's much more to come.
