The Flash was initially going to be the one to lead the future of the DCEU storyline, but with the recent actions of Ezra Miller, it seems like this may not be the case. Recently, Grant Gustin was trending as the possible replacement for Miller as the Scarlet Speedster.
The Flash is played by Miller in the live-action movie universe established by Zack Snyder. Meanwhile, Gustin plays the same character in the CW's live-action DC universe, often dubbed the «Arrowverse.» Both characters canonically met onscreen during a multiverse event in the Arrowverse.

It seemed like that was the end of it, but now fans are joining by asking for justice. Gustin was trending on Twitter because fans want to see the actor take over on all things movie and TV-related for The Flash. As a fan favourite for many, especially for his portrayal of the character on the TV screen, Gustin was who many wanted to see as the DCEU's Flash. However, it was clear that this wasn't how DC was handling things, which meant they opted for two different actors for the speedster.
DC has been good at fixing the mistakes they made, but now it's getting to the point where it's too many to count. They lost Ben Affleck as Batman, may have lost Henry Cavill based on the Supergirl rumors, and still haven't admitted their wrongdoings with Ray Fisher. Plus, Jared Leto jumped ship to Marvel, Joe Manganiello gave up on Deathstroke, they didn't use Wayne T. Carr's Green Lantern, and now Miller has caused a stir with what happened in Hawaii.
