Women in Games, the non-profit organization dedicated to opportunity and representation for women in the gaming industry, has announced that it will be opening a brand new chapter in Asia, hoping to further promote and drive its goals within the region.
The brand new expansion will be helmed by Dan Sun, Diversity & Inclusion Business Partner for Riot Games Asia, and Kah Hui Teo, Global Localisation Manager at Keywords Studios. The new division represents a huge and important step for the Women in Games organization on a global scale.
“These are exciting times for Women in Games as we continue to grow our community and our initiatives,” said Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman. “We are delighted to be announcing our first Chapter in Asia, and look forward to working with Dan and Kah who will be helping us with our ambitions and goals of promoting and supporting women in the region.”
“Women in Games Asia is the first international chapter to co-drive the Women in Games mission in the region,” adds Dan Sun. “We commit to improving accessibility and inclusion from the gender perspective with grounded initiatives that provide our community with career development, networking, and industry recognition opportunities.”
Women in Games will reach out to women within the Asian games industry via its monthly event “W Coffee” — a virtual meet-up for all associates to gather and discuss the important topics of gender pay disparity, education, inclusivity in the workplace, and finding opportunities for young women attempting to get a foothold in gaming.
