Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a sequel that many fans of the original game had been eagerly anticipating, and while some may feel that it was slightly lacking in some areas, it's still considered a solid continuation of the open-world zombie series. While Techland is starting development on its next project, a fantasy RPG, the studio is still committed to Stay Human, with a bunch of DLC in the pipeline. On top of that, the developer's lead designer had a few things to say about the upcoming expansions.
In a recent interview with VG247, Tymon Smektała was asked what can be expected for Dying Light 2 DLC. In response to a question about whether or not future content would go «as out there» as the first game, Smektała said that fans should not be too hopeful that upcoming additions to the game's story will take place in space. However, they then go on to say that something like that is not likely to happen until possibly year three or four. While it's an ambiguous comment, it does suggest that something quite outlandish could be coming to the sequel eventually.

Smektała continues by saying that the first and second DLCs that are currently in development will take place in different locations, though they are still part of the same universe. Again, it doesn't appear as though Techland wants to give too much away at this point. With the first Dying Light 2 DLC delayed and the studio saying that it «needs more time,» fans will have to keep guessing about what's inbound for the parkour game. Smektała reiterates Techland's plan to dedicate five years to looking after the game, even as the next project begins.
