Designing custom video game consoles is becoming a popular trend. From showcasing their love for their console of choice by designing a unique shell to producing a working prototype for a completely original creation, the sky is the limit when it comes to talented fans. For example, one fan of the Pokemon franchise has designed an incredible custom Game Boy Color for a popular Legendary Pokemon.
This Pokemon is the water-type Legendary Suicune, who first appeared in Pokemon Crystal. Pokemon Crystal was first released in the year 2000 for the Game Boy Color before coming to the 3DS in 2018. As a game released during the second generation of Pokemon, it is largely remembered for the several features it added, such as breeding, a female playable trainer, and the ability to travel through Kanto.

A fan on Reddit named H3roOfTime9 recently showcased their custom Game Boy Color, which their partner themed around Suicune and Pokemon Crystal. This Game Boy Color itself bears a striking resemblance to the original cartridge for Pokemon Crystal, as it sharesthe same teal coloration and translucent shell. The shell itself is decorated on the front with a picture of Suicune that is reminiscent of stain-glass.
The custom Game Boy Color isn't simply for display, though, as it is shown to light up upon use. The area near the D-pad and buttons glows a deep shade of blue which matches the teal of the shell. While there is no information on whether H3roOfTime9's partner has created any other custom console shells, the pair appear to be avid fans of the classic Pokemon games.
