Warner Bros. Games has confirmed three long-rumoured characters that will soon join the Multiverses roster.
Basketball legend LeBron James as well as Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith from the popular animated series, Rick and Morty will join the roster. James will be sporting his look from Space Jam: A New Legacy.
A gameplay trailer showing off Lebron was released today. Lebron James will join the roster when the MultiVersus open beta begins on July 26, while Morty will be available when MultiVersus Season 1 begins in August.
Rick will also be part of Season 1; his release timing will be confirmed at a later date.

According to Warner Bros, Lebron is “the ultimate teammate who can adapt to any playstyle, coupled with his unbeatable basketball moves, from dunks and alley-oops to assists and ball ricochets and more.”
Rick Sanchez will utilise his portal gun from the show and will be able to summon Meeseeks, another character from Rick & Morty. Morty “will have a mix of skills with an emphasis on projectiles and counter moves,” according to a brief character description.
VGC recently reported that MultiVersus is due to receive at least 19 new characters.
In May, an alleged list of yet-to-be included characters was shared on Reddit by the person who originally leaked the existence of MultiVersus in the first place. This list included 21 fighters.
According to the leak, the following characters are “mostly finished”, a claim backed up with a large amount of datamined information from the base game including voice lines:
