The Warner Bros. crossover fighting game MultiVersus has delayed its first season, and the addition of Morty Smith from Rick and Morty, to an indefinite date. The platform brawler, which recently had a soft launch on July 26, boasts a vast roster of characters ranging from Batman to Bugs Bunny to LeBron James. Last month MultiVersus announced Rick and Morty as two upcoming fighters, but their introduction has sadly been delayed.
MultiVersus pulls its colorful roster from various Warner Bros. properties like DC Comics, Steven Universe, Game of Thrones and more. This means that players are able to live out their wildest combat fantasies by orchestrating intense brawls between Superman and the Iron Giant, Wonder Woman and Arya Stark or other pop culture icons. Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith are set to appear as future additions to the MultiVersus lineup, with the mad scientist and his grandson sidekick no doubt bringing an arsenal of cartoonish sci-fi weaponry to the battlefield. Developer Player First Games previously established August 9 as the start of the live-service title's first season, and the release date for Morty in MultiVersus, but now this date has been pushed back.

While Season 1 was meant to kick off on August 9, a tweet from MultiVersus reveals that the game's first season and the addition of Morty Smith as a character has been delayed. Player First Games has failed to provide the community with a new Season 1 start date, or a reason for the delay, but the developer has assured the community that new and exciting MultiVersus content is still on the way.
