In this new story chapter, you can earn exclusive items and weapons while taking on new challenges meant to give Dying Light 2 players something new to do every day. This new chapter in the game introduces the Agent system, a sort of career ranking where players can complete in-game missions and earn exclusive rewards for their efforts. This is, according to Techland, a way to bring live-service elements into the game, such as daily and weekly challenges, without the paid portion attached. In The Footsteps of a Nightrunner is totally free for all players, and though two new currencies come to the game, neither is acquired with real-world money.
