Techland begins its five-year post-launch support for Dying Light 2 with today's update 1.4.0, bringing new characters, enemies, missions, and bounties to the table. All this alongside dozens of tweaks and fixes for the main game as well as a welcome photo mode feature.
Before Dying Light 2 even launched, the devs pledged five years of content support for the sequel, aiming to repeat its own model example of the original Dying Light's long and thriving life. With major title update 1.4.0, the studio opens the door to the first content chapter, dedicated to a new character, former Nightrunner Harper, and his quest to destroy new breeds of mutated infected in Villedor.

Players can find Harper in Fish Eye Canteen to access his new missions and receive never-before-seen weapons and outfits as a reward. There's also a new rank system, daily and weekly bounties, and time trial missions to test your stealth, parkour, and combat skills.
Another feature in the recent update is a photo mode players have been asking for since the game's launch. From now on, you can capture your journey through the world of Dying Light 2 almost at any time. However, the team noted it might be unavailable in some action sequences or poses due to the complex parkour mechanics. As for bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, there are plenty — the full list is available on the official website. Update 1.4.0 is expected to go live within the next few hours.
