Ever since Assassin's Creed first debuted in 2007, the series has become known for its historical settings and fairly authentic recreations of locations around the world. Naturally, speculation has been rife for the next proper entry.
The mainline series has seen players roaming the Holy Land during the Third Crusade, Renaissance Italy, Revolutionary America, the Caribbean, Revolutionary Paris, Victorian London, Ptolemaic Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Viking-era England to give a non-exhaustive list.

This is not to mention settings such as Cyprus, China, and India that have been the focus of spin-off games. So it's become somewhat of a guessing game, or wishlist, among AC fans to predict the next setting in the series.
Now, well-regarded video games YouTuber ACG aka Angrycentaurgaming aka Jeremy Penter has confidently asserted that the next Assassin's Creed game will be about Aztecs.
While fans have wished for settings such as Three Kingdoms-era China or Feudal Japan, setting the game in Mesoamerica would be quite refreshing. Previously, one of the few references to that region of the world centred on Ah Tabai who was a Mayan assassin and appeared in Black Flag.
The Aztecs ruled over parts of central Mexico from 1300 to 1521. It was an advanced civilisation, comprised of three city-states during the Aztec Empire, while it's popularly known for its stone monuments and temples, colourful gods, and human sacrifices. The Aztecs were eventually brought down by Spanish colonisers with Aztec ruler Moctezuma II famously taken hostage by the dastardly conquistador Hernan Cortes.
