Rob Zombie reveals a new look at his upcoming reboot of The Munsters featuring Lily's Uncle Gilbert. Zombie confirmed in June 2021 that he was working on a reboot of the classic sitcom, which originally aired for two seasons from 1964 to 1966. The reboot will star Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman. Zombie is also introducing new characters to the franchise, including Barbara Carr (Cassandra «Elvira» Peterson), Floop (Jorge Garcia), Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang (Richard Brake), and Zoya Krupp (Catherine Schell), to name a few.
Zombie is no doubt trying to give The Munsters a fresh makeover for modern audiences, yet he is still making sure his movie stays faithful to the original series. The director wanted The Munsters' iconic mansion to be identical to the original, and he is also bringing back more obscure characters for his movie. Herman's boss Mr. Gateman, now played by Jeremy Wheeler, will make an appearance in the film, as will two of Lily's family members. Tomas Boykin was revealed to be playing Lily's werewolf brother Lester Dracula last month, and an unknown actor is playing her Uncle Gilbert.

Zombie posted a behind-the-scenes video from The Munsters that gave the first look at Uncle Gilbert. The video shows Herman, Lily, and Uncle Gilbert waving to the camera, with Zombie explaining in the caption that Uncle Gilbert stopped by the set to eat some seaweed before heading to the airport.
