Since the beginning of 1000-lb Sisters, most of the focus has been on her older sister Tammy. Her overbearing attitude, victim mentality, and ungrateful behavior make it easy to see why she isn’t a fan favorite. Although Amy’s actions aren’t as dramatic, fans have plenty of reasons to dislike her.
Amy has been accused of being a bad mother due to her dangerous and neglectful actions. Motherhood has always been Amy's top priority, but fans are frustrated that she isn't taking the health of her babies seriously. She gave birth to her first son, Gage Halterman, on November 10, 2020, and she is now pregnant with a second baby boy on the way. She has admitted to smoking while knowingly expecting and still hasn't given up the habit this time around. She explained that she is trying to cut back, but viewers are appalled and outraged that she is willing to put her child's lives at risk.
Amy's motivation and dedication to losing weight inspired fans, but since giving birth to her first baby and becoming pregnant with the second, her efforts have stalled.
