Although Rachel Recchia sent him home after their first one-on-one date on The Bachelorette, drag racer Jordan Vandergriff thanked her for the experience. Jordan, a 27-year-old race car driver from Alpharetta, Georgia, and Rachel, a 26-year-old pilot and flight instructor from Clermont, Florida, spent some time quality together on the first night of the show. Jordan brought the bright red race car that he drives in order to make a connection with Rachel about their careers and how they both had to learn to operate complicated machines. He said that hopefully one day she can show him how to fly a plane, and he can show her how to drive the race car. Rachel was impressed by Jordan's effort, and her feelings only intensified when he told her, «I came here for you.» Rachel is sharing the lead role of The Bachelorette with Gabby Windey, so Jordan's statement that he was there for Rachel made her very happy.
