Warning: spoilers ahead for The Swamp Thing #15!
In the DC Universe, Swamp Thing has recently been infused with Green Lantern's power, which has made him realize the differences between the sources of their incredible abilities.
A new Swamp Thing has arisen in the DC Universe. His name is Levi Kamei and he is a different sort of person than the previous Swamp Thing Alec Holland. Levi has been a bit more reticent at claiming his role as the new avatar of the Green. But when Earth faces an alien invasion from a strange clockwork race, he steps up in order to fend off this powerful force.

In The Swamp Thing #15 by Ram V and Mike Perkins, Hal Jordan realizes that he is unable to defeat this invading force on his own. As the Green Lantern of the sector containing Earth, it is Hal's responsibility to protect the planet from alien threats. Sensing that Swamp Thing has made contact with the alien invaders, Green Lantern decides to imbue him with his own Green Lantern power. This allows Swamp Thing to be reborn in a much stronger form and grow to incredible sizes. More than that though, this new connection Swamp Thing has to Green Lantern means he is drawing power from two different sources.
The fact that Swamp Thing was able to both tap into the Green Lantern's Emotional Spectrum and his own power from the Green allows him to compare the differences between the two. Green Lanterns are able to harness their will, but this is an active phenomenon. Someone has to want something and pursue it in order to generate the will that powers a Green Lantern ring.
