Greetings, Adventurers!
As we prepare to explore the Eternal Isle when New World: Aeternum launches on October 15, important server, or World changes will happen across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Here’s everything you need to know about Worlds, merges and character transfers, plus a server FAQ.
Each new world that releases with console will become a “Standard” World.
The current “Standard” and “Fresh Start” Worlds will become “Legacy” Worlds once
New World: Aeternum launches.
Characters from Legacy Worlds will not be able to transfer into the new Standard Worlds. However, characters from Standard Worlds can transfer into Legacy Worlds. Once transferred, characters in Legacy Worlds cannot return to Standard Worlds.
Characters from Standard Worlds can transfer into other Standard Worlds as long as the target world is not at capacity (“Full”) or blocked due to other reasons.
New characters can be created on Legacy or Standard Worlds as long as the target World isn’t labeled as Full or «No In Transfer.»
Can I play with my friends on other platforms?
Yes. New World: Aeternum allows players from Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam (PC) to all play together on the same World.
Can I access my character(s) on more than one platform?
No. In New World: Aeternum your character(s) are locked to the platform you create them on. For example, if you create a character on PlayStation 5, you will not be able to access/play that character on Xbox Series X|S or Steam (PC).
Are there Standard — Console Only Worlds?
Yes. Players on PlayStation 5 can create characters on Standard — PlayStation Only Worlds, while players on Xbox Series X|S can create characters on Standard — Xbox Series X|S Only Worlds. These Worlds will only be accessible by players on their respective platforms and will not allow cross-play with other platforms. For example, players on Standard — PlayStation Only Worlds can only play with characters on Standard — PlayStation Only Worlds.
