Neko Atsume now has a sequel, Neko Atsume 2. This time, the cats are cuter, fluffier and cuter! Yes, I said ‘cuter’ twice. If you played the original Neko Atsume, you already know what it’s about. And honestly, the major things haven’t changed much in the sequel.
You probably remember the simple joy of leaving goodies out in your yard and watching an adorable parade of neighbourhood cats come strolling in. Neko Atsume 2 (meow) brings the same casual cat collector formula. Except that there are a few new features.
Now you can invite friends to check out your yard and visit theirs too. It definitely adds a social element to the game. Swapping codes is how you’ll be able to visit other players’ spaces. You might even meet new cats while visiting someone else’s yard.
Then, there are the Helpers in Neko Atsume 2. It’s a new feature where certain cats step up to assist you in managing your yard. There’s also a mysterious special cat, the Myneko, which you can customise.
The Cat’s Club is a subscription-based feature, which offers some cool perks. There’s a free one-month trial, so you can test it out first. You can have three Mynekos with the subscription. Also, you can meet Aida, the Helper Cat, just by signing up.
The game also gives you 10 silver fish through the newspaper feature. This is kind of like the replacement for the daily password from the first game. On that note, catch a glimpse of Neko Atsume 2 below!
In Neko Atsume 2, you first drop some snacks and toys in your virtual yard and step away for a bit. After a while, you’ll get to see all kinds of feline visitors, from tabbies, calicos, black cats and white cats, to some rare ones.
You log every cat you meet into your Catbook. Over 40 different types of cats might visit. You might have to mix and match different goodies to lure in the special cats. So, check out Neko Atsume 2 from the Google Play Store.
In terms of toys and decorations, there are fewer goodies than in the first game. But more stuff is coming
