We’re approaching the end of 2024, but the year still has a few major releases up is sleeve, and in that group, few games have looked quite as intriguing as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The open world survival horror shooter has made lofty promises with its pre-release showings, and with its release now roughly a week away, developer GSC Game World has revealed the full system requirements for its PC version.
That means the game’s minimum and recommended specs have been updated, too, which doesn’t come as a huge surprise, since the specs were originally announced quite a while back, in 2021. On minimum settings (which will run the game at 1080p and 30 FPS), players will now need either an i7-7700K or Ryzen 5 1600X, along with either a GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or a Radeon RX 580 (8 GB), and 16 GB of RAM. On medium settings, to kick the performance up to 60 FPS, you’ll need either an i7-9700K or a Ryzen 7 3700X, and either a GeForce RTX 2070 Super, an RTX 4060, or a Radeon RX 5700 XT.
For those who want to play at 1440p and 60 FPS, you’ll need to run the game at high settings, which will require either an i7-11700 or a Ryzen 7 5800X, along with either a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, an RTX 4070, or a Radeon RX 6800 XT, and 32 GB of RAM. Finally, for ultra settings, which will run the game at 4K and 60+ FPS, you’ll need either an i7-13700KF or a Ryzen 7 7700X, and either a GeForce RTX 4080 or a Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
Meanwhile, the game will also require a hefty amount of free storage space (which doesn’t come as a surprise, given its Xbox Series X/S storage requirements), clocking in at 160 GB. You can view the game’s full PC requirements below.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl launches on November 20 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
