What if The Last of Us: Part I was a first-person shooter? It’s a question fans have been asking for quite some time, and we even got a glimpse courtesy of some well-placed photo mode snapshots earlier in the year. But now footage of a bonafide PC mod has emerged, and the results are spectacular – even if there are still clearly some issues to be resolved.

Time for a close up
While the weapons aren’t properly aligned, leading to some very iffy aiming, we reckon seeing the world through Joel’s eyes makes the combat a lot more claustrophobic. You can really get personal with the enemies, and action seems so much more aggressive from this perspective. We like the way the camera briefly switches to third-person in some scenes as well, before toggling back to the new perspective.
Obviously this is all a work in progress and just an example of what could be possible, but it begs the question, is this something you’d like to see Naughty Dog explore in a future instalment? Raise your weapons in the comments section below, and be sure to let us know.

Problem with first person is peripheral vision, third person solves that. Although third person is a bit of a cheat because you can see enemies while in cover. Devs would have to come up with 2nd person to balance things haha.
