News of impending PlayStation hardware has been percolating for a while now, with the reliable Tom Henderson indicating Sony has multiple projects in the works. The prospect of a PS5 Pro (launching next year, no less) seems the most exciting to us, although the PlayStation faithful seem split on the issue.
It's looking like we'd all better get used to the idea, as Henderson has doubled down (even committing to a broad release timeline), which is not something you do off the back of a single source. Considering his track record, and with unequivocal language like «Insider Gaming can report with a 100% degree of certainty that the PlayStation 5 Pro is currently in development», we are preparing our spare pennies in anticipation.
While specifics remain relatively sparse, Insider Gaming expects the PS5 Pro to release in Q4 of 2024. Further, they understand that dev kits will be sent to first-party developers like Naughty Dog and Insomniac within the coming months, with third-party devs receiving them by year's end.
