Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man 2 received its first beefy gameplay video yesterday during the PlayStation Showcase, and a freshly-released Spider-Man 2 vs. Spider-Man Remastered comparison video has fans questioning the graphical improvements.
The highly-anticipated sequel to 2018's Spider-Man received a lengthy gameplay video yesterday featuring Spidey's new symbiote suit gameplay, and some interesting new moves for your friendly neighborhood spider. Following this gameplay reveals, YouTuber 'ElAnalistaDebits' released an 8-minute-long comparison video between the footage that was shown yesterday and gameplay footage from Spider-Man Remastered on PlayStation 5. Based on this comparison video, it's clear that the level of detail has been greatly improved for Spider-Man 2. In addition, we can see improved shadows as well as improved muscle deformations, additional light sources, and more. This comparison, however, has fans discussing the improvements that Insomniac has made coming from Spider-Man Remastered to Spider-Man 2. As most of you will know, Spider-Man Remastered was a remastered PS5 version of the original PS4 title, and with Spider-Man 2 being a PS5-exclusive title, some appear to have expected more on a visual level.
On the other hand, Spider-Man Remastered on PlayStation 5 is quite an upgrade compared to the original PlayStation 4 version, and as such, it might be evident that the expected huge leap between Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 and the upcoming Spider-Man 2 might not be as big as expected.
We're pretty sure that Insomniac will deliver another amazing-looking blockbuster later this year in the form of Spider-Man 2.
