After teasing the game a few days prior, NetEase Games and Naked Rain have announced Project Mugen, a free-to-play urban open-world RPG that looks like a fusion of Cyberpunk and Genshin Impact.
An announcement trailer showed an anime-inspired art style and several playable characters traversing the in-game world with movements and exploration bearing resemblance to the Insomniac-developed Spider-Man games.
Project Mugen does not have a release date, but NetEase and Naked Rain did announce it has open pre-registration for those interested in playing and that it's coming to PlayStation, PC, and mobile devices.
The cyberpunk-inspired influences are first notable in the trailer when you see a character riding a futuristic motorcycle that looks like something ripped out of Cyberpunk 2077.
Pretty visuals aside, Project Mugen's announcement trailer also showed plenty of fast-paced gameplay, with characters performing flashy combos, projectiles, and some type of laser gun.
