Two of Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel RPGs are about to find a new home. NIS America announced plans to bring Trails of Cold Steel III and Trails of Cold Steel IV to PlayStation 5. Those looking for a new platform for these will be able to pick up the two-in-one collection in early 2024.
While we wait for a concrete date, you can see both in the announcement trailer:
Developed by Nihon Falcom, Trails of Cold Steel III first launched on PlayStation 4 in Japan in September 2017. Trails of Cold Steel IV followed in 2018, and both received global releases in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The turn-based RPGs follow war hero Rean Schwarzer as he becomes a new instructor at Thors Military Academy. He has to adjust to some major changes while getting Class VII ready for combat. The next entry picks up two weeks after the events of Trails of Cold Steel III.
While Rean gets his new soldiers in gear, he and his party will be able to sport the finest of accoutrements. The collection includes bonus cosmetic DLC so you can work on looking your best in the heat of battle. NIS America also has both a Deluxe Edition and Limited Edition on the way, and the latter is now available for pre-order. Dropping $99.99 will net you the games in a big ol’ box with a soundtrack, mini art book, hardcover art book, cloth map, and postcard set, and art cards.
For those who can’t wait for this port, Trails of Cold Steel III and IV are currently available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
