Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake now set for 2026
thesixthaxis.comMarking 35th anniversary of the Prince of Persia franchise, Ubisoft gave a very, very, very brief teaser of what they’re calling a love letter to one of the series’ most “timeless” games. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is now set for release in 2026.
A Sands of Time remake was first announced back in 2020, with Ubsioft entrusting Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai to spruce up the classic adventure for modern consoles and audiences. However, development dragged on with several delays, until Ubisoft leadership decided that it needed a whole new direction and put the game in the hands of Ubisoft Montreal.
It’s quite likely that development was almost completely rebooted at that point in 2022, and now, around two years later, Ubisoft is comfortable with sharing a fresh release target of 2026. Let’s see if they can hit that target.
