During today's Ubisoft Forward event, the French publisher released a short teaser for the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
As part of the franchise's 35th anniversary, Ubisoft Montpellier's Brand Director, Gwenn Berhault, briefly mentioned the highly-anticipated remake of the 2003 title with a 30-second-long teaser trailer showing a burning candle as well as the game's planned release year - 2026. We've included that teaser trailer below, but please keep your expectations in check:
Officially announced back in 2020, the game's development is said to have been completely rebooted over the last four years. As covered back in April of this year, the remake will offer a complete graphical overhaul alongside overhauled combat, animations, and much more. Earlier this month it was confirmed that Ubisoft's Far Cry studio - Ubisoft Toronto - will be aiding in the development of the game. "Ubisoft Toronto is joining the development of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", the official Ubisoft Toronto X account posted last week. "We’re excited to rewind time and bring our studio’s creativity, expertise and updated tech to refresh this beloved classic with our partners at Ubisoft Montreal.”
No platforms have been mentioned in the trailer, but you can expect this remake to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and possibly Nintendo's Switch successor as well.
