Pride month is coming to Overwatch 2 on June 1st, featuring an updated Midtown, in-game pride cosmetics, and pride-themed apparel in the Blizzard store. Overwatch is a diverse world, and the Overwatch team wants players to be able to connect with their heroes and see themselves in the universe.
Cosmetics Logging in to Overwatch 2 awards an extensive list of pride-themed player icons and name cards. Overwatch's LGBTQ+ heroes each have their own unique name card. Midtown Update For the month of June, Midtown will be updated to take place after a pride parade. The update is inspired by the Stonewall riots. Watchpoint: Gibraltar now has a new photo in the barracks of Tracer and her partner Emily, also available as a spray. The goal of these changes is to provide connection to these celebrations for players who have wanted to partake in real-world events but are unable to. Blizzard is doing this now to expand on their characters identities and relationships. Blizzard wants to celebrate the diversity that makes the Overwatch 2 world worth fighting for. Merchandise & Charity The Blizzard Gear Store has a wide range of Pride-themed apparel, curated by the Blizzard LGBT+ Employee Network Net proceeds from the sales of this merch from May 16th to June 30th will be donated to the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).
