Experiencing damage to your phone is never really a good thing. Especially if that is the only device you own because, in such a case, you would have to send the device away for repairs. When it comes to official repairs, they are expensive and, sometimes, end up taking a lot of time before you can even get your device back in your hands. Well, YouTuber Mrwhostheboss decided to explore just that when he took his iPhone 14 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra, purposely punctured the screen on both, and decided to contact the respective companies trying to see how much the repair would cost, and what the lead time would be. The results might surprise you.
So, who won? Well, the short answer is that Apple won because they managed to receive and return the device in five days, whereas Samsung took 29 days, and even then, they actually sent the phone back without even repairing it, forcing the YouTuber to repeat the process all over again. Another thing to note here is that Apple charged a hefty £474 in advance, and this was an estimated cost. Meaning if the technicians believed that the repair was going to cost more, you would have had to pay more. Samsung, on the other hand, charged £223.99, more than half of what Apple charged, but here is the interesting part. Samsung, in the first attempt, sent the device back without even repairing it, and the YouTuber had to go ahead and send the device all over again. Only adding more to the total lead time. On the second attempt, it did take Samsung just 6 days to receive, repair, and return the device, but if you look at the actual time, then that's 29 days in total.
