A Nintendo Direct Might Take Place Next Month, According To Insider

We're well into the summer period, and that means only one thing for gamers. It's time for hundreds of developers and publishers to compete for our attention with an assortment of events and showcases chock full of reveals and world premieres. We already have the likes of Xbox, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Capcom, confirmed to be putting on their own shows, but one company that's being a little more reserved is Nintendo.

It's a company that dances to the beat of their own drum, putting out Nintendo Directs whenever it pleases, but it's lack of first-party titles on the horizon has many questioning what it's plans are for the rest of 2023. According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, we might actually find out those plans sooner rather than later, as he's claimed that he's heard "early rumblings" about a potential Nintendo Direct taking place in July.

During the latest episode of the Giant Bombcast, Grubb claims that he's heard that some kind of Nintendo event will take place next month, but isn't certain on what that might be. Nintendo has a habit of using the "Direct" label for a multitude of different events, and Grubb is uncertain as to whether this event next month will be a full-blown Direct, or some kind of smaller showcase or an event dedicated to third-party titles.

"Just early rumblings, I'll say that I'm hearing something is going to be in July next month," says Grubb.
