Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Needs A Monster As Good As Huggy Wuggy
With Poppy Playtime's second chapterFly in a Web being released soon, fans of the survival-horror game are already looking forward to future installments, hoping their monsters will be as good as Poppy Playtime Chapter 1’s Huggy Wuggy. Chapter 2 introduces a new antagonist, a Betty Spaghetty lookalike called Mommy Long Legs that moves on all fours in a spider-like fashion. Despite Mommy Long Legs’ body resembling a spider, her character design is nowhere near as frightening as Chapter 1’s Huggy Wuggy, who would gobble up the player when he caught them, bearing his grin full of terrifyingly sharp teeth, and Chapter 3 will need a monster that can compete.
Poppy Playtime was released in October 2021 for Windows and quickly went viral, garnering praise for its heart-racing suspense, clever use of jumpscares, and creative monster design. The game’s reach extended even further in early 2022, seeing another surge in popularity thanks to the release of Poppy Playtime Mobile for iOS and Android. Huggy Wuggy quickly became a fan-favorite character, leading the game’s indie developer, MOB Games, to sell merch featuring the fuzzy blue bear and even a Huggy Wuggy plush toy. The game's second chapter, Fly in a Web, is set to be released soon, although its release date has not been confirmed and a Chapter 3 is presumably in the works, too.
